Reflection
I have always been interested in the figure drawing, and so I chose that to research. After many of the weekly drawings, and research, I didn't really find that much that was new, that I didn't already know. I have been working with figure drawing for years, and have done a lot of research on my own before the assignment, and so I didn't find much that was new. I did find some though. I found some on balancing the human figure. Facial expression, and I also experimented with hair texture. What I found out on balancing the human figure was to try to line up the spine with the leg. That is if the drawing is standing on one foot, but this could be used in many ways especially if the figure is dancing, it would just have to modified. With facial expressions I found that they the figures faces go through more extensive changes to achieve the desired expression. Such as the entire face rising just slightly to appear excited, or the eyes and eyebrows coming even closer together to become angry. Obviously I will have to use this in my own style, but it is a nice place to start from. Now for hair texture. I think that I actually did some research for this before the weekly drawing research, but it was during the weekly drawings that I think I really started to experiment with it. When I researched on how to draw hair, I didn't really find a method that worked for me. I mean I watched a video on you tube that showed a really good example, but when I tried to copy it, it didn't turn out the same, and so I took some tips the video showed me, and ran with it. Now when I draw hair, I usually find places that I think would be darker, and layer after layer, I add the shading to it. I am perfect at it yet, but I will improve.
Nice, it's interesting to learn about all that stuff. I'm interested in going into animation, so I'm supposed to be good at drawing like cartoons and people and stuff like that, but I always just do it intuitively, I haven't researched or anything. But it is very interesting to learn about like how the right way to do it is. So yeah, nice research and well done drawings!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is awesome! Your way good at drawing people. I think your research is interesting as well, I may begin researching some of this myself!
ReplyDeleteYou have really put a lot of work into learning to draw figures. I think you do a really good job. I like the one with the girl hanging upside down, her expression is great.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your research went well! Your figure drawings are all really great. I like the ones that are more fantasy oriented, they're interesting. The mermaid one is so awesome, the colors and everything are spot on.
ReplyDeleteI Love all of the pictures that you drew especially the first and the third ones. I also really love your research because it shows that you really do love drawing people over lets say a bird or a plant.
ReplyDeleteI found your research paper to be very interesting! I love your passion for drawing people, it's so exciting to see a figure come to life on paper. FYI I LOVE the mermaid.
ReplyDeleteI like the one where she is sitting at the table. I really like the different ways you've drawn and used detail. Nice job.
