Kelsch: Landscape
So her is my landscape painting. So, I don't know if you can tell, but it is suppose to have water drips running down it, but it didn't want to work the best. I think it still turned out pretty cool though.

Kelsch: Blog Posts and Interests
Reflection
I have always been interested in the figure drawing, and so I chose that to research. After many of the weekly drawings, and research, I didn't really find that much that was new, that I didn't already know. I have been working with figure drawing for years, and have done a lot of research on my own before the assignment, and so I didn't find much that was new. I did find some though. I found some on balancing the human figure. Facial expression, and I also experimented with hair texture. What I found out on balancing the human figure was to try to line up the spine with the leg. That is if the drawing is standing on one foot, but this could be used in many ways especially if the figure is dancing, it would just have to modified. With facial expressions I found that they the figures faces go through more extensive changes to achieve the desired expression. Such as the entire face rising just slightly to appear excited, or the eyes and eyebrows coming even closer together to become angry. Obviously I will have to use this in my own style, but it is a nice place to start from. Now for hair texture. I think that I actually did some research for this before the weekly drawing research, but it was during the weekly drawings that I think I really started to experiment with it. When I researched on how to draw hair, I didn't really find a method that worked for me. I mean I watched a video on you tube that showed a really good example, but when I tried to copy it, it didn't turn out the same, and so I took some tips the video showed me, and ran with it. Now when I draw hair, I usually find places that I think would be darker, and layer after layer, I add the shading to it. I am perfect at it yet, but I will improve.Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Kelsch:Immortalize
This is my immortalizing painting of my sister. It doesn't look much like her, but, I think it is cool none the less. Clearly my sister isn't half skeleton, but I thought I would make a twist to the "immortalizing" part of the assignment.

Kelsch.Pointallism
Here is my pointillism, water mixable oil-painting. I like how it turned out this time. I is weird, but cool. I wish my flowers in the front turned out better, but for my first time, I don't think they are that bad.

Kelsch.Monochromatic
Here is my water-mixable oil paint, monochromatic painting. It was based off of a vase. Now, it was suppose to be just black, white, and grey, but because I had to make my own black, I had some trouble and it ended up getting off shades of blue, purple and green, but I think it is still cool.

Van Gogh Watercolor.
Size: 6 1/2 by 5 1/4 give or take.
Medium: Watercolor.
Well, I like this one even less than the last one. It looks like I didn't try at all, when I really did. So, I hope next week goes better.

Kelsch.Landscape.Water
Size: 6 1/2 by 5 1/4 again give or take.
Medium: Watercolor.
I am not really happy with how the painting turned out, but I still think it looks better in person. Also, now that I have posted it, I think that the picture it a bit blurry.
